Miniature Crepe Myrtle

My friends, Harold and Mary Cunningham from church, gave me this small crepe myrtle tree.  They had started it from a much larger tree on their property.

After surveying my property, I couldn’t decide where to plant it.  The idea came to me that perhaps it would make a pretty addition to my pool area.   I replanted it in a decorative container and love the results!  By limiting the space for the roots to grow, I am able to control the size of the tree.

Many of the plants and shrubs around my home were gifts, either from gardening friends or from a division or cutting from my garden.  This fall might be a good time for you to “divide and multiply” the beauty found in your yard.
