1 ½ sticks butter
1 ½ cups sugar
2 eggs
2 cups peeled and grated apples
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Butter or vegetable oil for greasing pan

Preheat oven to 350°  Cream butter with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.  Add sugar and beat for 2 minutes. Slowly beat in the eggs, then the apples.  Continue beating the mixture on low speed while gradually adding the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.  Beat for 2 more minutes. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.  Spread the mixture into the pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
