4th of July (Love for God and Country)

I was born a military brat and my home was whatever Air Force Base my father was assigned. We were stationed at small SAC bases, so I ran the grounds as freely as a child might his own backyard. One of my favorite memories was the lowering of the flag at the end of each day. The loudspeakers would crackle and the bugle would begin to play. Vehicles stopped and everyone outside stood still and turned towards the flag. Even though I was a child, I felt a reverence for our flag and all it represents.

Today, I’d like to stop and remember again.  I thank God for those who have served and continue to serve. Thank you,  Sgt. JR Glenn, my other “son” serving in the United States Marine Corps. Be safe, God bless, and I pray l see you soon.
